CM Punk has thrown another bomb at the pro wrestling community. The Internet exploded with comments, articles, photos and videos after Phil Brooks signed a deal with UFC.
The former WWE superstar said that his days as a wrestler are over and UFC will get 100% of his devotion. However, don’t expect Punk to enter the octagon right away. He said that he wouldn’t get into a fight before he feels ready for it, which would take about 6 months. He’ll start fighting at middleweight, sometime in 2015.
There’s been a lot of talk surrounding Punk’s decision. Many say that if he felt beat up in the WWE, the real, vicious fighting in UFC will severely shorten his career and maybe even lifespan. My personal view on this is that if Punk wants to do this, he should. He knows his body best, so who are we to define his limits?
Also, it’s become apparent that the WWE has been making Punk unhappy for a long time. Hopefully, the UFC and his lovely wife AJ will help him let go of the built up frustration and will give him a reason to smile more often.
The WWECS wishes Punk all the best in his new career!
