The bad luck over the Indy stars in the WWE has claimed another victim. At a time when the Intercontinental Champion Daniel Bryan is about to miss a second PPV in a row, due to a shoulder injury, and just after Sami Zayn injured his shoulder on RAW, now Hideo Itami is out of action with, yes, a shoulder injury.
According to Pwinsider.com, Itami could be out for 6-8 months. He was scheduled to compete in a Triple Threat Match for the #1 Contender’s spot for the NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver. The reports are saying that Itami won’t be taking part in the bout.
Wrestling in the Indies takes its toll on the performers because there safety is not a priority. High quality performance and entertainment are. The risks taken in the Indies are far greater than those in the WWE, so by the time wrestlers get noticed, their bodies have already taken years of insane punishment. It really is a shame to have this streak of injuries just when the opinion of indie wrestlers in the WWE was starting to change for the better.
