WWE NXT – Review, Highlights & Analysis From 03/06/2015

Tyler Breeze def. Adam Rose

It was a long match. Adam Rose and Prince Pretty spent a lot of time staring at each other, scouting. After that they delivered a solid match. Not spectacular or flashy, but solid.

Adam Rose was closer to being Leo Kruger than Adam Rose and that’s a good thing. With the slow pace he imposed, Tyler Breeze felt like a face.

Tyler Breeze is a hard worker. I’ve said this many times before but I’ll keep saying it. He deserves a run at the top.

Adam Rose might be undergoing a character change soon. The partying gimmick wasn’t working, which is not surprising. He dropped the Exotic Express already. His personality needs to evolve too.

Solomon Crowe

Backstage promos are not always that important. However, this one deserves a spot on the review. Crowe didn’t say anything particularly important per se but his delivery was a demonstration of why people like him. He has character. He’s a natural, just like Ambrose.

Eva Marie

Ahahahahh this is the worst attempt of joining NXT I’ve ever seen. Eva got booed out of the building. She was struggling to finish her pre-prepared promo over the YOU CAN’T WRESTLE chants. I think only Total Divas fans like Eva. I almost felt bad for her. However, it will get worse once she tries to enter the ring with someone of Charlotte or Sasha Banks’ quality because her atrocious wrestling skills will be exposed. Unless, of course, she has drastically improved over the last few months. Call me a pessimist but I don’t buy that idea.

Alexa Bliss def. Carmella

Carmella was all over Alexa in a catfight. Alexa, on the other hand, was wrestling for two. In the end, if Carmella hadn’t been too busy screaming, dancing and doing hair flips, she might have actually won. I don’t think that Alexa Bliss grabbing the ropes in the last second had anything to do with winning.

We know where this is going. Alexa Bliss will ultimately lose to Carmella on a Takeover show. Undeservedly but it will happen. We have to follow the plot.

The Vaudevillans def. Marcus Louis & Jason Jordan

The Vaudevillans? ½ of the Legionnaires? I’d almost think that someone’s actually reading my tweets. The NXT tag team division needed reviving and the big guns came back.

This insane character that Marcus Louis plays makes me uncomfortable and that’s a good thing. It means he’s adopted the gimmick fully and is making it real. Too bad the WWE doesn’t seem to be planning to give him a push. They should, though, even if it’s to make it worth walking around with that look every day, in real life.

The point of this match was to show that Jason Jordan is struggling to find the right partner. We’ll see a few of those before Chad Gable finally manages to convince Jordan to give him a try. Than Gable/Jordan will get a push.

Finn Balor def. Rhyno

Rhyno is strong but he’s slow. He can’t match Balor’s agility. However, it gave Finn an opportunity to prove that he can hold his own against a much bigger and stronger opponent.

The win wasn’t definitive. The WWE’s protecting Rhyno, which is understandable.

I was unimpressed by the match until I saw that Gore on the ramp. It was brutal and it made Roman’s spear, which I like very much, look like a flying hug.

Putting Finn Balor at a bigger disadvantage before his title match? As if facing Kevin Owens wasn’t enough!
