Tyler Breeze/ Bull Dempsey/ Adam Rose
What on earth has the WWE done to Adam Rose’s character?! Who was the genius who decided that “I’m gonna poop on your party” is a good catch phrase?! I’m speechless. The guy deserves better.
Oddly enough, Bull seems to be accepted well as a face in his Bull Fit role. Posing as Breeze on the ropes was a good touch, I admit.
Bull singlehandedly took care of Prince Pretty and Adam Rose. I’m not particularly excited about this feud. It had to happen but it won’t be anything extraordinary.
Tye Dillinger def. ???
This match was so short that I almost missed it. However, Tye Dillinger’s Perfect 10 gimmick is getting a good reception. Since he had no real character before, this is an improvement.
Whether Tye’s new persona will break through from the rest is doubtful. It’s a bit generic but it can be done. Only the future will tell.
Apollo Cruise def. Solomon Crowe
As the commentators noted, it almost looks too easy with Apollo Cruise. Quite frankly, I don’t like that. Cruise is athletic, no doubt but he’s too perfect – unbeatable & all smiles. He needs a bit of an edge.
Solomon Crowe, on the other hand, has “an edge” and plenty of it. Crowe is the type of a guy to use heel moves and still get a massive positive reaction from the crowd. I’m a big fan of his character and in-ring style, so it frustrates be to see that he’s NXT’s resident little jobber. It’s disappointing.
Baron Corbin & Rhyno def. Ciampa & Gargano
I was disappointed by the outcome of this match. Corbin and Rhyno won which means that we won’t be seeing more of Ciampa and Gargano in this tournament and that is a damn shame.
Johnny Gargano’s a real pleasure to watch in the ring. The way he moves is absolutely unique. The team with Tomasso Ciampa is so well-timed. This is what tag wrestling should look like.
I sure hope that Gargano and Ciampa stay for a long time. Can you imagine a match between Johnny Gargano and Seth Rollins? I’d most definitely pay to see this.
Bayley def. Sarah Dobson
Sarah Dobson had a good debut. She lost but her performance was memorable. She’s very unorthodox. I’m not convinced her style is to my liking but I can’t deny she has a style.
The reall bombshell hit after the match. Sasha and Bayley did a segement together nad both seemed to struggle to stay in character and keep their tears in. Once Mr. Regal announced that the main event of NXT Takeover on 7th October will be an Ironman match between the two ladies, it was clear why they were emotional. The women of NXT keep making history!
