Go To Hell Tour Promo
Paul Heyman recapped Brock’s victory over Big Show and then cut a promo on the Undertaker. Show came out to get F5ed and make the Beast feel useful.
I’m not sure how well this tour works for those who don’t have the network. Basically, Brock is some sort of an exclusive package that you just shrug off if you’re not willing to pay a bit extra.
As for Taker, logic dictates that he’ll lose. You can’t have a Go To Hell Tour and lose your second match of the tour, be it against the Phenom. However, Taker’s been booked unfairly in this feud. All of Lesnar’s success is founded on destroying the Undertaker’s legacy. Taker’s not like any other superstar. He has no other feuds to redeem himself or build momentum. It’s just him against Brock and Brock is getting all the spoils.
Ambrose, Reigns and Orton def. The Wyatt Family
After the big Reigns vs. Bray brawl last week, this felt very anticlimactic. We were back to the idea that more than one person is necessary to take Braun Strowman out. Ambrose, being the smallest guy, spent his time selling Strowman.
Bray was protected. He barely took any part in the match. In the end, Harper took the pin.
I think even just a promo and some unrelated matches would have been better. This 3on3 fight didn’t bring anything new to the table and shifted the balance between Reigns and Wyatt in Roman’s favour. The feud doesn’t benefit from it.
Sheamus def. Neville
Shemaus dissed the crowd and Neville, so Neville lost his temper and attacked the Irishman before the match even started.
Barrett, who was on commentary, decided to “have a word” with Neville since he was “better than that”. Obviously that only distracted Neville and Sheamus won within seconds of the starting the match.
I wanted a Neville vs. Barrett feud when Neville debuted. Now, I’m not so sure about it. Neville’s dragged down every rivalry he’s been in. He’s a tremendous wrestler, without a doubt, but his personality is blunt. I don’t know if Barrett can compensate for that. Stardust couldn’t despite his artistic skills.
Then again, I don’t even know if Barrett was trying to screw Neville or not. He might have been serious when he said he was going there to calm him down, which would make Barrett a face and he could be feuding with Stardust still.
I’m confused as to where the WWE’s planning to take Barrett.
This would have been yet another talk that leads nowhere if it wasn’t for Stephanie, who booked the hell in a cell match for the title. The added stipulation is that if Demon Kane loses, Corporate Kane loses his job.
I only wonder what Kane will do once he’s not bound to his corporate gimmick because he’s defnitly not taking the gold off of Seth.
Natalya def. Paige
Surprisingly, Natalya won. I guess this is the WWE’s way of bringing her in on the fun in the Divas Division. However, I think she’ll only be used as a temporary distraction for Paige until Charlotte is done with Nikki’s rematch.
It’s evident who has the real star power. Every time Paige screams that this is her house, the crowd goes wild. It doesn’t matter if she’s face or heel, the WWE Universe loves her.
Kevin Owens def. Sin Cara
Yes, I did say that Kevin Owens needs to be given a dominant heel reign but I definitely did not mean that he should be given a winning streak over jobbers, who stand no chance whatsoever.
Also, Owens didn’t even get to power bomb Kalisto on the apron. If that was NXT, he would have power bombed, Kalisto, Sin Cara and even Ryback before walking out. The way Owens is booked here is weak.
New Day/ Stephanie
The New Day tried to bring some positivity in Stpeh’s life but she wasn’t in the mood and booked them for a title defense against the Dudley Boyz at Hell in a Cell.
I wish the New Day would retain. They are the best thing to have happened to the tag team division.
Susan G. Komen
For a second year in a row the WWE is in a partnership with the Susan G. Komen foundation. It is a good cause and the WWE gives it the necessary popularity.
However, there was one thing that’s hard to not notice. There were two men in the ring, representing the WWE – John Cena and Roman Reigns. I hate agreeing with the crowd but that was quite the straightforward pointer to John Cena’s successor.
Seth Rollins and Kane vs. The Dudley Boyz
Seth was yet in another predicament. It was 2on1 against Seth and on top of that his own partner was ready to turn on him any minute. The champ tired handcuffing Kane to the ring but even that didn’t help.
The Dudley Boyz brought in a table but Rollins kicked it on them so I believe this was a no contest in the end. Demon Kane came out and although the Dudleyz exerted revenge on him and left him lying, Rollins was the one who got choke slammed through a table.
To be fair, the WWE is doing a great job of selling the Demon, although we all know he won’t be wining the rivalry.
Team B.A.D. def. Team Bella
Since PCB are no longer a trio, Team B.A.D. and Team Bella kept the stable feud going by themselves. However, the Bellas are now trying to break team B.A.D. by bringing up the fact that Sasha is much more popular than the other two.
Charlotte will first need to deal with Paige. Then Sasha could come in. It opens up possibilities for a lot of backstabbing. It could be Becky, turning on the champ or Naomi – on the Boss. It should be interesting.
Adam Rose’s Promo
First of all, this is NOT a cryptic message. Second, “The Party Pooper” ?Really? That’s the gimmick you want to go with?! And this is supposed to make Rose look dangerous? I give up….
This was one awkward segment. After airing a tribute to her love for Rusev, Summer fell down on one knee and proposed. “RuRu”’s reaction was hilarious at first. His body language was saying: “No, no, hun, no!” After that Rusev said Yes only to clarify that a marriage will happen only if Summer gets him a title.
I think Rusev saved us all. I really don’t want to have to sit through another WWE “wedding”. I’ve seen enough over the years and I don’t need another one.
Also ,the Dolph Ziggler and the earring angle seems to have been forgotten. It’s not that I’m rooting for a love triangle but at least it would have put an end to the awkward Rusev/Summer segments and it could have also opened up the possibility of Rusev/Lana as a duo again. They just belong together.
John Cena def. Big E
I’m impressed by the New Day. They attacked Ziggler before the match to show Cena how serious they were.
Yes, the match was the typical “the opponent is amazing but Cena never loses” scenario but after that the New Day stood tall in a ring full of bodies, including Cena, Ziggler and the Dudley Boyz.
When you think the New Day can’t get any better they do. I am convinced that they need to keep the titles for a very long time. Their reign will be always entertaining.
